The Association was created in 1962 and recognized by IOC in 1963 under the name “National Olympic Committee of Mali”

The National Olympic Committee of Mali merged with the National Sports Committee in July 1999 and become the National Olympic and Sporting Committee of Mali (NOSCM).

It is an apolitical and non-profit association, endowed with legal personality. NOSCM is governed by the Olympic Charter and by the laws and regulations in force in Mali
